Chronicles of Mr. Principled 1

Met him on one of my flights;
Born in the early 90's, this lad set out with lots of dreams and hope, little did he know that the world wasn't all sunshine and rainbow. It wasn't a fair a place as he thought. It was full of wickedness and deceit. He told himself that no matter what he does he will always try to live a principled life; not taking what isn't his but working hard to acquire every single bit of  success. This wasn't an easy decision as he was always in the minority when it came to things of moral and ethics. It was like running opposite to the direction of traffic coming across lots of cars  with non going in your own direction. His parents were very good Christians and they instilled the fear of the Lord into him. He always had it at the back of the mind that if nobody was PRINCIPLED, God was and is and has always been on the side of the ones who set themselves aside to do good. It came as no wonder that his favourite scripture which later came to be the principle that guided his life in young years
LUKE 6:31 Do to others as you would have them do to you.
He was quick to add that although you are nice to people doesn't mean you'll meet only nice people but be sure to know that all is working for your good.
"The world may not have a place for a principled person but heaven sure does" he smiled.

Romans 12:2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Thin Line Between Love And Hatred

LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE L ove is a beautiful thing. To love and be loved is one of the best things that can happen to anyone in life. Over the years, I’ve learnt how to love people without any conditions attached. My simplest definition for love is, “an action word”. Love isn’t something we feel, it’s what we do based on the feeling we have towards another person. The word “Love” over the years has become one of the most abused words in the English language to the extent that it has lost its power and effect. When we have affection for someone, we show it by our actions not only by words, as said in Latin, "Facta Non Verba." The Bible tells us to Love our neighbours as ourselves. In other words, don’t do to another what you wouldn’t want someone to do to you. It sounds simple but not an easy task. HATRED Is hatred the absence of love?  Or is it the presence of something opposite to love? I find it difficult to understand why people can hate each other. I may ...

A visit to the countryside

I was spending my summer holidays in one of the big cities in Ukraine(Kharkov) when my cousin invited me to come along with him to a village for a church program. Those were his exact words a village. As my summer was already getting boring for me. I said it wouldn't hurt to spend some few days in the "village ". So i went to meet up with him via bus then we went by train then got down and continued by bus again to our final destination. What i saw wasn't what i perceived if you come from Africa you will understand me better. It wasn't a village but rather i will say a countryside. A small town with average social amenities. Everybody knows everyone. Yeah you get that a lot if you live in a small locality. Apparently, the town hadn't seen a lot of black people visit so we got a bit of staring  here and there but it was pleasing more than racism, they made us feel important . The town has only 3 pizza joint, so we visited the best according to our host an...
